The Nebraska Research and Innovation Conference (NRIC) brings business leaders, policy makers, and researchers together to hear distinguished speakers, learn about the latest technologies, and exchange ideas while exploring potential collaborations. The 7th annual NRIC focused on advances in Information Sciences, a field that has substantially altered the modern world.
The conference was held at the CenturyLink Center Omaha, formerly Qwest Center, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. It began with a morning plenary session featuring distinguished speakers, followed by an afternoon parallel track session where researchers and industry professionals presented exciting new developments in science and business. A research poster presentation and a reception concluded the day.
The field of Information Sciences is concerned with the collection, dissemination, and analysis of complex data with the use of advanced computing techniques. The methods reveal insights into diverse areas of inquiry, ranging from biological information to household energy efficiency management. The plenary speakers, panel participants, and the five tracks were chosen to reflect this diversity.
